Ministry Matters

Acts 3:1-9

We are called to be difference makers.  How do we carry out the great commission in an anti –Christian culture of extremism and materialism?

Remember that life is a journey and it is ours to keep ( going       ) and ( growing     ).

Methods are many, principles are few;

Methods always change, principles never do.

What is ministry and why does it matter?

Ministry takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God.

Acts 3:1-9 provides four basic elements of ministry.

  1. Know the Divine Resource (      personally  )

  1. See the Needs (  Compassionately        ).

  1. Become a channel of blessing ( mightily      )

  1. Glorify God   ( Amazingly       ).

Defining our Ministry Boundaries

The problem, which causes many believers not to serve, is that we mis-identify our roles and ourselves.

We think God has called is to be (    manufacturers       ) but actually we are called to be  ( distributors          ).

Only God alone has ALL the resources to meet human needs, all we can do is receive His riches and share them with others…”Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have…”

Mark 6:44 – the feeding of the 5000 teaches us to not  (avoid    ) the need, rather confess that we are ( bankrupt    ) to meet it and watch God do it.  Jesus didn’t need the disciples as manufacturers; he needed them and us as distributors.

How do we become faithful distributors?

John 1:16 – (     grace     ). As we received it, we are called to give it.

Luke 6:38 – give and it shall be…

Don’t depend upon your own ( stuff         ), just learn to use God’s stuff!-  1 Cor. 15:10
